Help locate lost song

Trey has been asking me to sing the penguin song, and I have no idea what he is talking about. It is probably something he learned at school and I keep forgetting to ask the teachers. When I ask him to teach me the words, all he says is “Penguin. STOP!” If anyone knows what song this could be, please let me know.

In my search for this song, I went on youtube to find it. I couldn’t find it, but somehow we stumbled on a random song (search for Kids Penguin Song on youtube.com) and he asks for it about 3 times a day. And it makes him giggle for some reason.

Bran Muffins (with no ill side effects!)

It is normal to have cravings this late in pregnancy?  Or maybe I just LOVE these bran muffins.  They aren’t typical - they are really light and fluffy.  So light, in fact, that I had 7 the other day in a span of 2  hours (with no ill side effects if you know what I mean).

In the words of Yo Gabba Gabba - “Try it!  You’ll Like it!”

4 c. flour (I use whole wheat - makes them a bit heavier but not enough to really notice)
2 c. wheat bran
1 1/3 c. sugar (you can use Splenda too)
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. salt
4 c. buttermilk (1 quart)
4 eggs
1 c. canola oil

Mix these ingredients together.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees and cook for 18-20 min.

This makes a lot of batter, but it is good for 3 weeks in the fridge so you cook just what you need.  Of course, you can always halve the recipe as well.

Note:  You can add anything to this batter like millet just for a little crunch, fresh fruit, nuts, or anything that suits your fancy.

Welcome Carol!

Things have been crazy around here what with a move across the country! We are finally settled in Denver….. well, we were settled until we decided to go and buy a house. The initial plan was to rent until after the baby comes in July, but we found a house we fell in love with and decided to up and move again just 6 weeks after arriving in Denver.

At the same time the Tiny Tales wholesale business has really picked up, which has been fantastic. I added a Stores page to the site which seems to grow by the day. So much, in fact, that I have taken on Tiny Tales employee #2! I am excited to introduce Carol, Manager of Retail Relationships.

Carol will handle answering questions for current and potential stores, and generally just make sure that Tiny Tales is successful in stores. She is also on the hunt for new boutiques where Tiny Tales would be a good fit. I am very excited to have her join me in this adventure. The fact that she loves the product and has been my best friend for 15 years doesn’t hurt either. Her email address is carol [at] tiny-tales.com.

Is this the definition of irony?

I’ve never once been called for jury duty in my life, and today received a summons to serve in June.  I am moving to Colorado in 9 days!  It would be really funny, except that now I need to add 1 more thing to my very very long to-do list to get out of it.

New Review from The Opinionated Parent

toprecommended200sq.jpgJust a snipit from the review:

“As a momma of prime breeding age (heh), my friends are popping out kids like there’s no tomorrow and I love buying baby gifts. I refuse to buy gifts at the local big box store so am always looking for new & unique parent-made items to have on hand in case of a new baby emergency. My newest find? Reader recommended Tiny Tales.”

Thanks for the review ladies!

$1.04 for a slice of heaven

cone.jpeg

I had a checkup this week (24 weeks along), and there is a McDonald’s on the way home. Is it strange to get a vanilla cone at 10am? Well, I did it, and let me tell you it was FANTASTIC! Really just a little slice of heaven on the side of the road. Love it!

Drats!

I’ve been waiting patiently for about 19 months for the tinytales.com domain name to expire in April 2008.  I checked on it today and it has been renewed for another year!  Argh!
